These volumes are restricted under the Health Information Privacy Code, which stipulates that records containing patient details or health information are restricted for 100 years from the last date of entry.
Within this 100 year period individual details may be transcribed for researchers if certain conditions are met:
more than 20 years has passed since the individual's date of death, and proof is provided.
the request is for information about themselves, and proper identification is provided.
the individual is a deceased family member, and proof of the relationship is provided.
Capital Coast Health have the right to grant privileged access to these volumes.
