This series contains the New Zealand Army Nursing service papers. Evidence suggests that the records of the First World War Army Nursing Service was accumulated by Matron Hester MacLean. The Service remained in existence throughout the interwar period, being rapidly expanded again early in 1941 to provide nursing staff for the expeditionary forces.
