To protect personal privacy:
(a) All public archives containing health information about identifiable individuals are restricted for 100 years from the date of the last paper or last entry in the record.
(b) All Seacliff and Orokonui mental hospital patient casebooks are restricted for 100 years from the year of admission of the last patient in each casebook.
(c) All public archives containing sensitive personal information about staff and students are restricted for 75 years from the date of the last paper or last entry in the record.
(d) Individual patient archives will not be listed by name in the public finding aids of Archives New Zealand, nor will information confirming the existence of the public archive be made available, during the period the public archive is restricted.
Access to restricted public archives and lists of restricted individual patient public archives, is not available without the written permission of the Southern District Health Board and any successor.
