GENERAL


The New Zealand Customs Service was one of the Government's border protection and revenue collection agencies. It had specific responsibilities for ensuring that all goods and persons entering and exiting New Zealand did so in accordance with all New Zealand laws and regulations, and for collecting customs duties and sales taxes.
