Statute of Westminster Adoption Act   (8021)
unknown - unknown  range held: 1947 - 1947

This is the official copy of the Statute of Westminster Adoption Act (Public Act No. 38 in the 1947 Statutes of New Zealand). This Act adopted certain sections of the Westminster Act 1931, which is set out in a schedule to the Act (see also in the New Zealand Statutes, 1947), and essentially removed all British restrictions on the New Zealand law-making process except for amendments to the Constitution. Provision for the latter was made in the New Zealand Constitution Amendment Act (Request and Consent) 1947. The Statute of Westminster Adoption Act is an assented act, a bill which has become an Act of Parliament and part of the laws of New Zealand.
