As you may be aware New Zealand’s COVID-19 alert has moved into level 4. It is likely that level 4 measures will stay in place for a number of weeks. While our reading rooms remain closed, and several of our services are suspended due to COVID-19, we are now accepting some general research enquiries. Read more about the status of our services below.

Government loans and copying/digitisation
Our government loans service and copying/digitisation request service have been put on hold until further notice.
If you have already submitted a request, we will be in touch to let you know its status.
If you have any requests directly related to COVID-19 we can treat these as urgent.
Researchers are welcome to submit enquiries through our website at this time. We will be able to provide general advice and guidance, but please note that we do not currently have access to our physical holdings. If your enquiry requires research into these records, we will advise you of this and suggest you contact us again once we have access.

Responses to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into State Abuse have also been put on hold until further notice.
